Interview

Recently I intervied Professor Sturgis who is also a very accomplished author. Their were a lot of interviewers in the audience but here are some of the Q&A we had:

What made you write a book about Afro Centric Weddings? Their isnt any rules about Afro Centric Weddings so I wanted to write a book about it.

Your new book is about black women dating outside their race why? I was suprised that 60% of black women are ok with dating outside their race. I myself have dated a Puerto Rican.

How do you feel about black love and the black family? I feel like black love is dying. Today we have more options, and a lot of black men arent available due to jail or various reasons. Plus black women are changing.

Who are you role models? My parents

You've had many jobs which one was your favorite? I really like working for myself, but all my jobs have been great.

What is your next goal in writing or teaching? I want to write a play. I want to be a multi media person.

This interview was done by students in the writing for media class. Article was written by Tyler Dragon.

Hope you guys like it! Stay tune for more interviews!

Trades Already happening

Shaun Marion to the Raptors for Jermaine O'neal(to the Heat).  Tyson Chandlers to the Thunder for Joe Smith(to the Hornets). The trades are heating up. Could Shaq, Vince Carter, and others be next? I talked to my friend Blair back home in Fresno who's a Miami Heat fan heres what he had to say about the Heat trade. " I liked the trade for O'neal he's a good player, and we needed another big guy. I dont know if he's much of an upgrade from Marion though. I would of liked a trade for Shaq or Stoudamire better, but will see how this goes". Stay toned for more trades to come!

Steriods

I know my blog is devoted for stories about basketball and football. However I was forced to talk about steriods. Well not really forced but i really wanted to. Why do some people think steroids are ok? Steroids are horrible, and they're cheating! The fact that an athlete uses steroids is an unfair advantage, and this is coming from an athlete. Steroids is really prominent in baseball with the likes of Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and now Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod was the one who "forced" me to write this article. I just dont get it why do athletes use steroids. Once an athlete makes it pro thats an accomplishment in itself, so why cheat? People have lost the sportmanship of sports. Its hurts but it's the sad truth.

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching, and rumors are starting to swirl about which teams will make moves. Will Stephon Marbury go to the Celtics or Heat? Will Shaun Marion get traded from the Heat to give Beasley more minutes? Will the Raptors trade Jermaine O'neal? Does Allen Iverson want to leave the Detriot Pistons? Will Rasheed Wallace get traded also? All these question and more are going around NBA circles. However only time will tell what happens, after all we must wait until after the all-star break.

Steelers Win!!!

The Pittsburg Steelers are the 2008-2009 Super Bowl Champions. In one of the best games in Super Bowl history the Steelers fought of a serious comeback from the Cardinals, and sneaked out a 27 to 23 win. Throughout the game Pittsburg was lead by three players James Harrison, Santonio Holmes, and Ben Roethlisberger. James Harrison was the key player in the first half disrupting the Cardinals offense all night, and set the game wide open with a 100 yard interception return that ended the half. Ben Roethlisberger was consistant all night pacing the Steelers offense for 20 points and only one interception. However the games MVP was Santonio Holmes, not only did he provide the winning catch, he also had 9 catches for 131 yards.
